Chris Kaplan-Walbrecht grew up on a dairy farm in upstate New York. He spent ten years in the world of clean water advocacy, working with citizens campaign for the environment.

Eve Kaplan-Walbrecht gets her hands dirty whenever possible. She is also a certified town planner and is active in local civic affairs, working to preserve farmland and open space

Farming Practices

Our AgroEcosystem & Permaculture Practices We’ve instituted some common-sense practices on the farm that have enhanced our farm ecosystem.

Cover crops such as rye, wheat, oats, vetch, clover, field peas, and buckwheat play a key role in our growing season on the farm. It has taken us a while to learn the unique characteristics and qualities of each, so that we know when and where to use each one.
